This is a full on tale of twists and turns. I am glad you used capital letters so I could work out the characters names.
The last sentence confused me, are they sad Ethan did not die? Or did the snake die?

My goodness, I had to read this a few times to keep up with the twists and turns. It’s a shame that Hi died, I thought he sounded like a good snake. I’m sure I’ve seen snakes swim on David Attenboroughs documentaries so perhaps Hi could have escaped the Thames? You have really impressed me with how much attention you have paid to spelling and punctuation in this blog – you are really improving your writing!
